Here's something lame about Macs
Or about Mail.app, at least.
Attachments with long titles. Their name will appear as something like "Very long na...pdf (67 KB)." You can mouse-over them, wait for two seconds, and then the full title will appear. That's the only way to see the whole filename.
But in finder, when a filename is very long and gets shortened with ellipses, you can mouse-over it while holding down option-alt and you'll see the full filename instantly, without having to wait two seconds. Those are two seconds of my life that I'll never have back, which I could've used for learning Portuguese, or donating to Catholic Charities, or thinking about secondary sexual characteristics.
Apple has robbed me of seconds. Precious, delicious, possibly onanistic seconds. Unlike Windows, which has never once made me wait for anything, ever.
